Luck and Work.

Lily's Chronicles.

You make your own luck
- Unknown

Claire was too focused on getting into the Chicago Bulls NBA team as their manager and media partner.
Clara, on the other hand, knew she would get into the NBA team one day, but wasn’t certain when. She was the “delayed not denied girl.” Luck was on her side because her potential was competent. She was born a natural and didn’t see reason for harnessing this talent into something worthwhile like surpassing the top 1%.

It worked for her, but didn't have her outnumber the top 3%.
She fell to the 4th percentile, but you know what? luck still sits with her comfortably.
Luck falls with her when she is competing with people on the 4th percentile or below but never with those on 3rd, 2nd, or 1st.

Meanwhile, there is Claire. She wasn’t born a natural but wants to be a natural in this field.
She can be topped at 80% without any luck and 96% without any work.
Claire puts in the work, devotes her time to scaling up in this field.
In the first 4 months of diligent dedication, Claire rose to 30%.

  • Progress? YES
  • Work? Beat luck by 50%
  • Luck? Did nothing extra

You will agree that in the next 4 months, if Claire remains consistent, she will be a natural.

PS: With the story of Claire and Clara, it is easy for people to say “Claire was just lucky” when she tops better than Clara.
And “Clara was just unlucky” when she sits comfortably with luck on top 4%.

(Unlucky people are usually lazy or confused.)

Basic knowledge that should stick with you forever is that the human mind is interestingly very powerful.
Your mind is powerful.
In other words, it means YOU are powerful. I'm positive you will understand this force by the time you're done reading.
It is up to you to harness this power.

LUCK is not an illusion, neither is WORK.
Luck and work are jolly friends and can do without each other too.
(Luck can do without work, work can do without luck.)

Why not invite these two friends for breakfast?
Get up in the morning and feed them. See how useful they become to you and how much power is in your possession.

Work will usually outperform luck in many cases.
Luck often doesn’t need hard work, but Work demands hardwork and dedication.

Everyone can create their own luck.
Work and luck are loyal friends with different desires.
You can sit these two jolly friends down, give them a plan you set and let them do their parts.

The difference between these two is that work craves attention, while luck wants to see that work is given that attention.
Work would need your attention more, while luck doesn't need your attention, it needs your order and hopes that you meet the criterias with “work”.

Luck is docile when work is treated diligently. Neglecting work, chases away luck.

Luck is generally defined as when opportunity meets preparation.
What’s preparation? WORK

Luck is dependent on the choices you make.

“This boy is so lucky”

“You’re always lucky”
Sounds like something you alway say?

How about I tell you people who seem to be in good luck are not surprised when luck falls on their side?
They put in the reps, opportunities came by, they recognized them and took advantage of these opportunities.
They’ve made it a regular occurrence to always be lucky (at least that’s what it looks like to you)

Everyone has luck, never call yourself unlucky.

Everyone can create their own luck.

Unlucky is a word for the ill-fated and jinxed.

When you repeatedly do what you should, have a keen ability to recognize opportunities and make good use of them. You will be called “Lucky”

Some people fail to recognize the work that was put in when they see something extraordinary and just dismiss it as pure luck.
Those types of people never make it.

The ones who do look at the same situation and even though they understand there is an element of luck within, they also understand there is a lot of work in hindsight that made it happen.

They reverse engineer it and figure out how to replicate it for themselves thus creating their own luck.

What happens after you put in the reps!

You always reap what you sow, there is no shortcut. Even if it might take a while.

Shallow people believe solely in luck.

Who serves two masters will lie to one. If you strongly believe in luck, you don't have to put in any work. (Be like Clara.)

Courage and skill are worth little when you have luck. Do you have to recognize any opportunity when you have luck? No. (I mean you're already lucky. You don't have to do anything.)

Do you think with luck you have been made perfect?
While others may climb the ladder, with luck, you will use the lift, right?

Do you want some luck? You work
Chances are you can attract 99.9% luck when you put in work.
Work and there will be a sprinkle of luck.

A thing is sure, that is, when you follow the natural laws of attaining something, you will. Luck has no other choice but to be on your side. Mind you, this is not luck, you earned it. <<<You worked.

There are many paths to the top of the mountain but only one view.
Work will help you see it better than luck will.
